French Kitty

Yesterday I spent at least two hours on the phone trying to figure out how to get Oliver moved. It's not every day that one calls the French embassy to ask "How can I bring my housecat to France?"

Aside from the paperwork, (en francais, naturally), he has to be microchipped. Now most of Europe is good with a standard microchip that we use here in the states. But if you're going to bring an animal to France, he needs a specific French chip, "Available from the French government". This is when I started calling the embassy.

The embassy proved useless, but Google saved the day and I ordered the micochip from California. By this time next week, Oliver will be one step closer to being French.
