On Friday afternoon Dave picked up our Livebox from France Telecom. The Livebox is the clever little device that controls the cable, internet and phone. They told him it would be 10 days before everything was working, which we found pretty disappointing.
However, after hooking everything up, Dave picked up the phone and called my desk. It already works! Unfortunately, calls can't be made to our line yet, so I won't share the number until we're fully operational.
By the time I got home from work that night he had the internet working, which was huge. We can finally have a reliable connection and can Skype our families.
The cable started working today (Sunday), so now we have French tv, too. Including BBC World, so at least there's one channel in English.
We're wired!
