Today is “Journée de la Femme” or “Women’s Day” in Europe. I learned this in the canteen when I was given two little complimentary packets of artificial sweetener. This doesn’t surprise me at all, the French celebrating women by giving them diet food.
I asked my lunch companions what “Women’s Day” was all about and they said it was a day to acknowledge women’s issues, women’s causes, etc. I waited for them to say “...and the problem with women” but I guess that’s what we talk about on “Men’s Day”.
