For whatever reason, taxes I think, my contract mandates that I am paid in dollars. Faurecia Detroit pays me, then Faurecia Méru pays them in return. Not very efficient, considering I have to move the money back to Europe, but whatever.
I just received a slightly more professional version of the following e-mail conversation:
Headquarters: Can you confirm that Chi is being paid these three amounts, as stated in her contract?
Detroit HR: We pay her two amounts. We thought you were paying the third.
HQ: No, no we’re not. You pay. You owe her since January 22.
Detroit HR: Fine.
Excellent.
Of course, this leads to the only logical explanation: Detroit was so desperate to get rid of you that they offered to keep paying your salary if you went away.
