Lousy Weather

It seems that the weather in France runs in streaks.
When we first got here it was cold gray and raining for 2 months straight. Every day.
And then it became warm and wonderful for about 4 weeks. It was unbelievable, the number of beautiful days we had in a row. I was delirious with the possibilities that every consecutive sunny weekend afforded.
And then, in the first few days of May, it became gray and cold again. What is it now, May 17? I'd say 15 of the past 17 days have been cloudy. And it rains every day, just a little.

Everyone says that the weather is uncharacteristic, and that April and May switched this year. Yesterday Dave was thinking about turning on the radiators.

The shift in weather has given me a cold that I've been fighting for the past week and a half. It just won't go away. If you're my parents or Dave's or Katie you've heard me complain about it plenty. If not, you're lucky.

May in France is almost as unproductive as August due to 4 public holidays that people like to extend into full weeks off. Today being one of them, coincidentally: Ascension Day. Anyway, due to a shortage of hands at work, I've felt pressured to be there to help. And as a result, I'm fairly sure I'm driving everyone crazy with my cough and gotten at least one other sick.

I know, I'm supposed to stay home and do the rest of the team a favor, but I couldn't exactly stay away for a week and a half for a head cold, could I?
