Kangourou

Just when I thought I’d finally seen everything France had to offer in terms of meat, we had a special Christmas lunch in the canteen today.

I read the menu on the counter and saw “kangourou” and thought: there’s no way. Please please please don't be what I think that is.

I pointed to the trays of meat and asked my colleague: “What is this?”

He said “You know…the animal of Australia?”

“You’re joking."

“No. It’s not common, but we have it in France sometimes.”

Why would anyone eat a kangaroo? They’re so cute. I bet it’s not on the menu at Outback Steakhouse.

I toyed with the idea of trying it strictly for scientific (and blog) purposes, but I was too hungry for experimentation. I stuck with the chicken in mushroom sauce.

It’s funny that this is our company’s idea of a “special” lunch. Although it seems I wasn’t the only one who was weirded out, because the line for kangaroo was empty.
