Brazil: Here I Go!

I finally got my Brazilian visa this afternoon, along with proof of my "administration revenge" theory:
So now that's done, but I still don't have my tickets! And the flight is tonight! I spent this morning in the office, trying to hunt down the travel organizer or on the phone with American Express travel. Finally I had to flee the office to get into Paris in time to pick up the visa (visas can only be picked up during a two hour window). I asked my colleague to pick up the tickets if they ever found them.

As I was parking the car near our apartment I received a call from my boss: the tickets had been lost, and my colleague was on his way to the American Express office in Cergy to pick up a new set. Bless Julien, this isn't the first time he has saved me.

Regardless of the fact that everything is finally coming together, I am still extremely tense. This is not helped by the construction next door that is literally shaking one half of the apartment. So instead of packing, here I am, complaining on the blog.

One last complaint: I am irritated with everyone at work telling me "bon vacances" when they hear I am on my way to Brazil. They seem to be under the misconception that I am going to be on the beach with a fruity drink all week. This is the weather forecast for Sao Paulo:
I know I am very lucky to get this opportunity, but honestly, I'd much rather stay home this week.
