Le Buzz du Jour

I guess the big news in both the US and France today is the men's 400 freestyle relay. I didn't get up at 5 a.m. to watch the race, but an indignant colleague told me all about it over lunch.

So tonight at home I tried to find video footage of this storied race. After NBC.com made me install a new video player, I was greeted with this message:

Why? Whywhywhywhy? I'm sure that someone crafty like my brother could figure out a way around the European IP address, but not me.

Finally, in desperation, I searched French websites and easily found a video on our sports channel's website, CanalPlus.

The only difference between the French video and yours, I suppose, was the screaming commentators. Mine were yelling "ALLEZ!!ALLEZALLEZALLEZ!!", go! gogogo!, and a little bit of excited French swearing, followed by, "C'est pas possible!"

It's not possible!
